The rating, drawn up jointly with the PPE Association (ASIZ), was compiled on the basis of Rosstat (Russian Statistics Agency) data for 2018 and information provided directly by the companies themselves. The presentation of the top 50 rating was held on December 10 at Russia’s largest OSH exhibition BIOT in Moscow.
The list includes manufacturers and distributors of workwear, safety footwear, personal protective equipment and service providing companies. The report does not take into consideration a number of large manufacturers, in particular, 3M, Honeywell and BTC Group, due to the lack of information on the share of PPE in their sales. Also the top 50 did not include trading companies that deliver products to state-owned companies. In the results of companies selling both their own products and products of other manufacturers, revenue from both types of sales is taken into account.
The total revenue of the rating participants increased over a year by 12.9% from 81.06 billion rubles (1.142 billion €) in 2017 to 91.87 billion rubles (1.294 billion €) in 2018. This allows us to adjust the overall assessment of the Russian PPE market volume increasing it from 140 billion rubles (1.952 billion €) to 155 billion rubles (2.183 billion €).

2. The revenue figures allow us to adjust the overall estimate of the Russian PPE market’s volume from 140 billion rubles (1.952 billion €) to 155 billion rubles (2.183 billion €).
3. The invariable three leaders of the rating are “Vostok-Service-Spetskomplekt” AO (19.83 billion rubles (279.295 million €), + 10.6% compared to 2017), “Firma Tekhnoavia” PV OOO (15.47 billion rubles (217.887 million €), + 15.5%) and “FPG Energocontract” AO (6.22 billion rubles (87.605 million €), + 3.8%) cover 26.8 % of the total Russian PPE market and make up 45.2% of the top 50 participants revenues.
4. The Russian PPE market is rather stable. According to the results of 2018 there are only six newcomers on the list of the largest companies: “Ansell Rus” OOO (14th place), “Prabo” OOO (32nd place), “Vento-2M” (35th place), “Sever-Service-Komplekt” Group (36th place), “Center-SIZ” OOO (40th place) and “Technoprom” OOO (50th place).

8. The growth of the workwear segment is caused by a more than twofold increase in the purchase budget of “Rosneft” Oil Company. Of the 16 companies represented in the segment, eight are suppliers of “Rosneft”. The oil company began the transition to more expensive products made from fire-retardant aramid fabrics two years ago, which significantly increased the costs. Now the procurement budget of “Rosneft” is about 12 billion rubles. (169.014 million €), most of which is spent just on workwear. Costs for the purchase of workwear were also increased by Russia’s largest workplace, Russian Railways. The company has launched a large-scale program for the renewal of employees’ corporate service dress at all levels. A full transition to new service dress and workwear range will take three years — from 2019 till 2022.
